Social Skills Groups
Three age groups available:
Ages 18 months - 4 years 11 month old children
Ages 12 - 14
Ages 15 - 17
Social-emotional development starts from the beginning of infancy and toddlerhood between a child and their caregiver. When a caregiver nurtures their young child’s communication and social-emotional skills through developmentally appropriate play, they are helping to build a healthy foundation and positive trajectory for their child’s social-emotional development. Early intervention is key. We are excited to launch our new Play Group for caregivers and their children, 18 months to 4 years 11 months of age. Our facilitators provide a warm, fun and engaging environment where children will get to meet and interact with other children their age, and caregivers will learn new skills to enrich and strengthen their relationship with their child and guide them in enhancing their child’s social-emotional growth, all while meeting and connecting with other caregivers.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our highly anticipated social skills group tailored specifically for youth ages 12 - 14. Designed to nurture essential social abilities in a supportive and engaging environment, our program will equip your child with the tools they need to thrive in social interactions. Our expert facilitators create a warm and inclusive dynamic where each child's unique journey is valued and celebrated. Register today and unlock your youth's potential for social success!
In a world saturated with social media and electronic interactions, we are becoming less able to interact on a personal level with those who are physically around us. Executive Functioning Skills for Middle/High School
Executive Function (EF) strategies include goal setting, cognitive flexibility, organizing and prioritizing, memorizing, self-checking and monitoring – helping students learn first HOW to learn, and then applying those tools to their specific academic challenges. With learning now taking place across multiple settings (in person, hybrid, and remote), never has it been more important to help students apply EF strategies to their work. This is especially true for students who struggle with learning differences, including dyslexia and ADHD.

CONTEXTUAL COACHING in our mixed reality training lab
The best way to learn how to interact with each other better is to practice. For some individuals, this can cause embarrassment, confusion, or misunderstanding. Mixed reality simulations allow people who are struggling with human exchanges to practice a variety of skills in a variety of settings, overcoming the constraints of time, availability, and risk. Coupled with our expert coaching, participants develop strategies that are practiced in context of stressful situations.
Hope Haven’s mixed reality lab helps participants improve their communication skills in several primary areas, including:
Increasing self-awareness
Reading and identifying social cues
Decreasing social anxiety
Strengthening impulse control
Improving social conversation skills
De-escalating fears and phobias
Contextualized Coaching…It’s what makes learning stick.
